With the new rugby season only just around the corner, rugbystuff.com now stock the latest range of Canterbury position specific rugby boots. The collection features 3 different boots - the Canterbury Stampede, Phoenix and Control - all of which have a junior version.
Let’s start with the Stampede boot.
There are 2 variants of this boot in stock at Rugbystuff.com; the Stampede Elite and Stampede Club. The Stampede rugby boot has been designed specifically for front row players and features an 8 stud outsole.
With the game we all love always evolving, the Canterbury Stampede accommodates the role of a modern front row forward by creating a boot that allows players to be more agile and mobile around the park, whilst still being strong and reliable for scrum and rucking situations. If you struggle to get rugby boots wide enough for your feet then these are the boots for you – they are as wide as they come, perfectly suited to props!
The Stampede Elite is the higher quality boot out of the two in this range, due to a full grain leather upper. This upper makes the boot lighter and a more comfortable fit compared to the Stampede Club which uses a synthetic leather. The support system in the Elite is also superior, with internal mid foot strapping and an external 3D TPU heel counter. This allows the boot to sit firmly, and comfortably around your foot to give you the maximum support and stability across the whole of your foot. In comparison, the Club offers you TPU heal support which offers you good support around the heel. The Phoenix range is the next we will look at.
Here at First XV, we stock the Phoenix Elite and Phoenix Club. Back Rows and Second Rows are arguably the toughest positions on the field, needing high levels of strength, flexibility and technique.
To suit the needs of them, the Phoenix range is hard wearing, rugged and light weight to try make the perfect boot for these positions. As with its Stampede stablemate, the Phoenix Elite is the superior boot in this specified range. This secure and lightweight boot will give you both the protection and the mobility you need to be a loose forward.
The 8 studded Phoenix gives confidence and unparalleled grip, even when the conditions are exceptionally wet and muddy under foot. The upper has been constructed from 100% full grain leather allowing the boot to remain supple and comfortable. As explained with the Stampede Elite, the Phoenix Elite also uses internal mid foot strapping and an external 3D TPU heel counter to give you the ultimate comfort grip and mould for your feet. Much like the Club version of the Stampede range, the Phoenix Club also uses synthetic leather and TPU heel support. Finally, we will look at the Canterbury Control Range, a boot specifically designed for kickers and backs.
Increased flexibility in the forefront maximises feel and control for kicking. With this being a six studded boot, it gives more flexibility and therefore making it easier for backs to get around the pitch quicker and more easily.
The Control is designed to have a tighter, snug fit to allow more control and feel for kickers. To do this, it uses a soft synthetic with a 3D rubberised print. It also has a layer of texam on the surface to allow it to be completely water-tight to prevent your feet getting wet. Comapared to the Stampede and Phoenix ranges, the Control uses a 3D heavy hexagon deboss to allow maximum support around your ankles whilst also keeping it as light and mobile a boot as possible. To sum up, Canterbury has released three very high quality ranges of boots which can accommodate the needs of players, whatever position you play. We at First XV are proud to say we stock such a high quality brand which takes such pride in its products. Order yours online today or come into First XV to try them on for yourself!
