Earlier this week, British & Irish Lions fans were given a first look at the new training collection for next summer’s tour to New Zealand, produced by Canterbury for the first time in their 112 year history, a range which will be worn by the players selected to tour in 2017.

Canterbury’s commitment to creating innovative rugby apparel for both training and in the stands makes the range perfect for both players and fans, with products available for men, women and kids.

To meet the standards of the world’s best loved touring team, the range is one of the biggest British & Irish Lions training collections to date. Designed to optimise performance in training on-field and in the gym, the new Canterbury collection will ensure the Lions are completely prepared for their first match on June 3 2017.

Every piece in the range features the iconic British & Irish Lions badge which carries the SINCE 1888 scroll, which we told you the story behind in one of our earlier blogs.

Canterbury’s advanced fabric technologies; VAPOSHIELD, THERMOREG and VAPODRI+ all feature throughout the collection, resulting in a range of Lions training items that are more breathable, lightweight and weather resistant than ever.

Alongside the iconic red training items, products are available in green, white and blue in recognition of the four nations that make up the British & Irish Lions.

Discussing the new training range, Canterbury CEO, Chris Stephenson expressed his confidence in the new training wear; “Canterbury are thrilled to release the new British & Irish Lions training range. With over 100 years’ experience in rugby, we’re committed to creating products that are technologically innovative and enhance performance on the pitch. Our unique position in rugby helps us understand the needs of supporters and players alike and we’re convinced the new British & Irish Lions training range reflects this”.

The new British & Irish Lions training range from Canterbury is now available online at rugbystuff.com, and instore at First XV.
