August has been a busy month here at First XV Rugbystuff.com with the usual start of the season and back to school rush combining with kit releases from Edinburgh Rugby, Glasgow Warriors, and most recently, the Scottish national side.
The 2018/19 season will see Scotland play in a traditional navy blue home shirt with purple and green accents, but the alternate jersey has changed from white to a silver and light blue colour scheme.
The new home kit - which will be worn by the side during the 2018 November Test matches against Argentina, Fiji and South Africa, as well as the 2019 Six Nations - takes inspiration from the colours of the official Scottish Rugby tartan.
In recent seasons, Scotland's away shirt has been white, but Macron have decided to go with silver with an embossed stripe throughout. Light blue stitching is carried through onto the shorts and socks.
Both shirts feature the Saltire flag proudly displayed on the left sleeve.
The jerseys come in a variety of styles - from the tight-fitting bodyfit shirt as worn by the players, and a looser fit replica shirt, to the classic short sleeve and long sleeve versions.
When talking about the new Scotland kit, Macron Chief Executive Officer, Gianluca Pavanello, said:
“Scotland have been doing their talking on the pitch with a brand of rugby that is astounding Scottish rugby fans across the globe.
"Macron’s role in the partnership is to make sure the garments the players and staff wear, keeps them at the forefront of sports apparel innovation while the designs excites and stimulates the fans to get behind the boys in blue.
“Our team of designers always worked hand in hand with Scottish Rugby to make sure the match day kits as well as the training, travel and accessories range are a further step forward on that of the previous season and I personally think that we have, together, created something very special.”
A new shirt annually has become a trend in rugby, with Macron and Scotland no different.
This new range of replica jerseys from Macron follows hot on the heels of the latest training range, which was released in July, and sees the light blue, navy, purple and green colours of the kit continued through the leisurewear.
