World-renowned sports footwear manufacturer Asics are official suppliers to both Australia's Wallabies and South Africa's Springboks, including their Rugby World Cup 2019 rugby shirts and kit.
Asics are a Japanese company and are based in the city of Kobe. The name Asics is an acronym for the Latin phrase anima sana in corpore sano, which translates as "Healthy soul in a healthy body". Founded by Kihachiro Onitsuka in 1949 the company has primarily grown on the strength of its superb running shoes. However, in later years the company has made a big play in the rugby market with the sponsorship of major international and club teams.
