What is a jackal?
Jackalling happens in the second after a tackle. The tackler rolls away, the jackal gets over the ball, hands on, and fights for it before the ruck forms. Get it right and you've won a turnover, got the touchline on its feet and stopped the attack dead. Get it wrong and you're giving away a penalty while an 18-stone prop clears you into next week. Jackals go back in anyway.
