About the South Sydney Rabbitohs
The South Sydney Rabbitohs are the most successful club in rugby league history, with 21 NRL premierships - more than any other club in the competition. Founded in 1908 in the working-class suburb of Redfern, they are one of the sport's original clubs and have been central to rugby league's identity in Australia for over a century. The Rabbitohs play in red and green, a combination so associated with the club that it's simply known as cardinal and myrtle.
The club's history includes some of the game's greatest players and one of its most dramatic stories - expelled from the competition in 1999, they were reinstated in 2002 following a supporter campaign that became one of sport's most celebrated fan victories. Their most recent premiership came in 2014 under coach Michael Maguire, captained by Greg Inglis. Classic Sportswear produce the official Rabbitohs kit.
