Classic Dragons NRL Indigenous Rugby Jersey 2026

The St George Illawarra Dragons' 2026 Indigenous Jersey, featuring original artwork by Kooriaani Dunn, a 16-year-old artist from the Illawarra region. The piece is titled Drawing Courage from Country and Community.

The artwork tells a story rooted in place. The Five Islands, Mount Keira, Mount Kembla, the ocean, rivers and streams are all present - singing stories of courage and determination across the land. Gawura, the whales, rise and fall through the design with power and certainty. Two meeting places sit within the artwork: the women's meeting place in the top left, the men's in the bottom right, representing the Dharawal Elders past, present and emerging, the Dragons, the people of the Illawarra, and the club's supporters. Two hands in the top right represent cultural diversity - together in voice, in dance, and in song.

In a significant gesture, major sponsor Squadron Energy chose to step off the jersey entirely to make space for the artwork, as a statement of cultural respect for the Dragons' First Nations players, communities, and the artist.
