The Speedster is Gilbert's back-line boot. If you play outside centre, wing, or fullback and you want a boot that keeps up with how you actually move, this is where to start. The knitted upper wraps your foot properly rather than sitting around it, so there's no dead space and no excess weight slowing down your push-off. The low-profile collar keeps your ankle free to work, which matters when you're stepping off either foot at pace.

Gilbert have built this around what they call a sprint chassis, which is essentially a last and sole geometry designed for forward drive and sharp directional change rather than the more neutral shape you'd find in a forward's boot. It's noticeably lighter underfoot as a result.
